Pride of Yorkshire Farewell Event

Join us for the Pride of Yorkshire Farewell Event where you'll have the opportunity to see all 300 lions, lionesses and cubs from the trail in one place! Three days. 300 lions. One final roar.

Following the success of the Herd of Sheffield (2016) and Bears of Sheffield (2021), the Pride of Yorkshire has been the biggest art trail yet, brightening South Yorkshire over the last few months. The Farewell Event is a chance to see all of the lions (lions, lionesses and cubs!) in one place.

Ticket price
£5 a ticket
£15 family ticket (2 adults and up to 3 children)

Event dates
Friday 2 October until Sunday 4 October
You'll have 3 days to come and say goodbye to the pride of lions!

Opening times
The event will be open from 10-5pm each day
Quiet hours - we will be offering quiet hours between 10-11am each day
Please note, last entry is at 4.30pm, with the event closing at 5pm each day. 

Where?
As with the bears, we are bringing the pride of lions to Meadowhall! The farewell event will take place in Meadowhall's Upper Yellow Car Park (near Sports Direct and the Pride of Yorkshire's pop-up shop).

Getting there
Whilst we will be closing off this car park for the event, you'll still be able to park at Meadowhall as usual to access the Farewell Event and, of course, the Meadowhall Centre.
Meadowhall is accessible via public transport, including Meadowhall Interchange connections, and Meadowhall South/Tinsley Tram stop is approximately 5 minutes from the Upper Yellow Car Park where the event will be held.

FAQs

Where does the money go to?
This roar-some campaign will directly contribute to the transformation of the Emergency Department at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Every penny raised during Pride of Yorkshire will help to create a calm, child-friendly space designed for children and young people in need of urgent care.

Can I buy a ticket on the day?
Yes, you can still buy tickets on the day if you want to play it by ear. We do, however, recommend planning in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Can I attend multiple days?
Yes, you can; however, this will require that you purchase another ticket, as ticket entry is done per day. For example, you'll buy a Friday ticket for £5 and if you wanted to attend again on Sunday, that would be another £5 for the Sunday ticket.

Will there be food and drink?
Yes, we will be providing some food and drink options at the event! You are also a stone's throw away from the Meadowhall Centre for other options and toilet facilities.

What if I want to leave and re-enter the event?
We will be giving out wristbands, so if you want to leave to go into Meadowhall and come back later, that's no problem, so long as it's within the opening hours and the same day!

Will the pop-up shop be open?
Yes! Our pop-up shop inside Meadowhall (near Sports Direct) will be open in September on set days and during the opening hours of the Farewell Event. We will also be selling merchandise at the event, so there's still time to grab some lion merch and maybe even some early Christmas presents! 

What happens after the Farewell Event?
